(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The state Department of Public Health says it has logged a case of the death of a child to flu.
DPH says the child died earlier this week.
It's the first pediatric fatality from flu this season.
That is in addition to 29 deaths that have been counted during this current flu season as reported on Thursday.
Public Health Commisioner Raul Pino says it's imperative that children aged 6 months and older be vaccinated for the flu.
