(Guilford, Conn./WTIC) - One person is dead after being struck by a train today in Guilford.
According to the state Department of Transportation, a trespasser just west of the Guilford station was struck by an Amtrak work train.
Guilford police say the incident occurred just before 12:30 p.m.
The incident led to delays along the ShoreLine East rail line.
There's no word on the identity of the 55-year-old male victim or what they were doing in the path of the train.
Just before 2:00 p.m., ShoreLine East tweeted that it would resume service momentarily.
Two upcoming trains, #1626 and #1671 would be running "on or close to schedule".
