(Hamden, Conn./WTIC) - Hamden police are looking for suspects in a weekend motor vehicle theft with a child inside the vehicle.
Officers say on Saturday, around 4:30 p.m., a man went into a Dixwell Avenue store and left his pickup truck running with his 9-year-old grandson inside.
The man returned to find the vehicle had been stolen, with the child still inside.
Moments later, the boy was located by police at a Dixwell Avenue McDonald's after receiving a call from a Good Samaritan.
As for suspects, police say a black female in her mid-20s initially swiped the 2005 Ford F-150 and drove it to the Hamden Mart.
Once there, investigators say she met up with a black male, at which point the child was ordered out of the vehicle.
An AMBER Alert was issued during the incident and the state Department of Children and Families was also notified.
