(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - Three children who went missing last month from a supervised visit in Waterbury turned up in Mexico, along with their mother and her boyfriend.
That, according to Waterbury Police this morning.
The children were the subject of an Amber Alert when they were reported missing with the mother, 28-year-old Crystal McGrath and her 38-year-old boyfriend Lester Joy.
The odyssey began February 16, taking the five from Connecticut to Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, before Lieutenant David Silverio says U.S. marshals developed leads to the groups whereabouts south of the border.
He says marshals then developed information on March 8 that the group was, indeed, in Mexico.
Dylan and Maddison mcgrath, along with along with Maryah Matthew were flown back to Connecticut along with DCF officials and their grandmother over the weekend.
Crystal McGrath and Joy are awaiting extradition back to Connecticut, where they will face charges.
