NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTIC) – New London Police are searching for a suspect that shot a man early Saturday afternoon on the sidewalk in the area of 33 Walden Avenue.
Police responded and located a semi conscious gunshot victim, who was later airlifted to Yale New Haven Hospital. Officials say his injuries are serious.
Detectives canvassed the area and developed suspect information, as officers are currently looking to interview Christopher Whitely. The 32-year old currently has unassociated active felony narcotics warrants and police say he is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous.
Anyone with any informatino concerning Whitley or his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the New London Police Department. Police add this does not appear to be a random act of violence and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
This shooting follows three others in the cities of Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport on Friday that left two dead and one wounded.
