HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - Cleanup continues from yesterday's fierce winds that howled across Connecticut, causing downed trees, blocked roads, and loss of electricity.

The high winds, up to 60 miles per hour in some areas, knocked trees onto roads and utility lines on Monday, causing tens of thousands of power outages.

Crews this morning continue the work of restoring power to thousands of Connecticut residents.

Currently, Eversource has about 7,000 customers without power in its Connecticut territory.
