(New London, Conn./WTIC) - Police in New London say they were called to a city middle school this morning on a report of a possible weapon inside.
Officers say a little after 9:00 a.m., they responded to Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School on Waller Street.
The school was placed in lockdown, after which officers made immediate entry.
A search of the campus did not turn up a weapon or any other threat, police said.
Students and staff, as well as the general location, were deemed safe.
The investigation is continuing.
