NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTIC) - There has been a second arrest in an animal cruelty case in New Britain.
26-year-old Eileen Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty and one count of illegal possession of a prohibited species.
Police say they found a crocodile monitor valued at $15,000 and two emaciated dogs in her Chestnut Street apartment last June.
According to authorities, the home smelled so badly people thought someone was dead inside.
Rodriguez's boyfriend was arrested on animal cruelty charges last November.
