(Ashford, Conn./WTIC) - The company providing assistance to those whose home foundations are crumbling has received it's second alottment of funding from the state.
The Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company is reporting it has received a second round of $20 million in funding from the Connecticut Department of Housing.
The company launched this past January to assist those facing large repair jobs, some costing in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, after concrete containing the mineral phyrrotite caused home foundations to begin failing.
Michael Maglaras, CFSIC supervisor, says there are currently 80 homes in various stages of repair.
He says by July, it's expected that 125 foundation replacements will be underway.
Maglaras also says they're starting to process applications for condos and planned unit development properties, as well.
