(Wethersfield, Conn./WTIC) - The state Department of Labor is reporting gains on two fronts when it comes to the job picture in Connecticut for last month.
Officials say for April, preliminary figures show a modest increase of 300 positions. The puts the gain for this year so far to 11,600 over 2018.
The unemployment rate for April trended downward to 3.8-percent, down one-tenth of a percent from March.
In addition, Labor Department officials adjusted the losses for March from 1,300 to an increase of 1,600 for total gain of 300.
Andy Condon, the director of the department's Office or Research, says the small April increase and the March revision changed the picture from one of slight to declines to slight growth.
