HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - State Police and Hartford Police are on the scene of an officer involved shooting that occurred on the I-84 ramp on Capitol Avenue.
The 84 West on-ramp in the Capitol City has been closed, as the Hartford Police Depart announced via Twitter that Connecticut State Police will take over the investigation.
Fox 61 reports the incident occurred after 9 p.m. and that a "plain-clothed" HPD Detective shot a suspect. That suspect's identity and condition is unknown at this time and the officer involved has been transported to an area hospital, as per standard procedure.
Recently, Connecticut State Police tweeted that detectives are en route to the scene. Interstate 84 Westbound, exit 48 ramps are closed - officers urge motorists to take an alternate route in that area.
