(Milford, Conn./WTIC) - Milford police say a woman is in the hospital and a city man is under arrest in connection with a weekend domestic violence incident.
Officers say they received the call just before 4:30 Saturday afternoon to an apartment on West Town Street.
According to police the subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 56-year-old Russell Molleur.
Police say he struck the female victim several times in the face with a close fist and also attempted to strangle her.
The victim is in serious but stable condition.
As for Molleur, he faces charges of assault, strangulation, disorderly conduct, unlawful restraint and tampering with evidence.
He's being held on $250,000 bond.
