WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC) – West Haven Police have made an arrest involving a burglary in town on June 3rd.
Patrol unites were dispatched to the area of 151 Church Street on the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arriving, a juvenile female running from the area approached an officer and stated she believed someone was trying to break through the front door of her home.
Officers quickly responded an upon entry of the property the two suspects, identified as 67-year old Talib Al-Din and 61-year old Clifton Spellman, were located inside.
The two suspects were apprehended on scene after an unsuccessful attempt to flee from police.
Numerous stolen items were recovered at the scene including jewelry from the residence on the suspect and an air soft style gun.
Other stolen items were located in a vehicle in a nearby parking lot – that vehicle is believed to be involved in this incident.
No injuries were reported during the incident and Spellman and Al-Din were both charged with Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Mischief, Interfering with an Officer and Carry a Dangerous Weapon.
Both were processed and held on bond.
