ENFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ A cause and origin investigation has been opened into the fire that tore through a vacant factory building in Enfield.
Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox tells WTIC News "...the local Fire Marshall, assisted by the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit undertook a cause and origin investigation."
He adds that the Enfield Police Department will open an examination into any "...further violations of law."
The Journal Inquirer reports a fire official told their reporters the fire "...was set by at least one individual in a 30-gallon container."
Chief Fox tells WTIC News it "...would be premature" to characterize anything pertaining to the fire.
The town has since demolished the building.
