ANSONIA, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Two years since the disappearance of Vanessa Morales, now 3 years old, Ansonia police say the trail remains cold. They're re-releasing photos of items associated with the girl, plus an age-enhanced graphic of what she might look like now, as they again ask for the public's help in finding her.

"We are no further than we were two years ago," says Lt. Patrick Lynch. "We don't have anything that is going to lead us to her."

Vanessa's mother, Christine Holloway, was found dead at their Ansonia home on Dec. 2, 2019. Vanessa, 15 months old at the time, wasn't found.

The girl's father, Jose Morales, is being held, charged with Holloway's murder. He has not been charged in Vanessa's disappearance, but police have said he is a suspect.

"We believe that (Jose Morales) was the last person to be with her," says Lynch. "Family members outside of Jose saw them on Friday, Nov. 28. That was the last time anybody outside of Jose saw them. So we believe that he has information that could be helpful to us."

Police hope the photos they've released could help lead to tips.
