(Meriden, Conn./WTIC) - Meriden police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of the brother of a city man last weekend.
Under arrest is 28-year-old Anthony Smith.
On Saturday, police say they were notified by those at Midstate Medical Center that the victim of a shooting, 38-year-old Dante Smith, was being treated. He later died.
Officers say they interviewed Anthony Smith and charged him in the shooting.
Investigators say Anthony Smith admitted to accidentially shooting his brother with a rifle.
A search of his home turned up the weapon, another gun, and ammunition, police said.
Anthony Smith is charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm.
Bond was set at $500,000.
