(New London, Conn.) - The U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London is announcing President Biden will deliver the commencement address at this year's graduation.
Commencement exercises are set for Wednesday, May 19.
It will be Biden's second commencment address to graduating cadets at the academy.
The first time was as vice president in 2013.
Academy Superintendent Rear Admiral Bill Kelly says "we are honored to host the Commander-in-Chief as we celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2021, the future leaders of the U.S. Coast Guard".
The 140th Commencement Exercises will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Cadet Memorial Field.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event will not be open to the public and the number of guests will be reduced significantly.
