Hartford, Conn. (WTIC)-Hartford has added another COVID-19 testing facility with the addition of the Xfinity Theatre, normally a venue for concerts and entertainment.
Senator Chris Murphy joined Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, Jim Koplik and those operating the facility, CIC, a new COVID partner with the state of Connecticut.
Senator Murphy remarked that many people are reluctant to be tested because of the hassle and the cost. He says the Xfinity theater location solves both those issues because it's convenient and free.
Murphy says many of these testing sites are available because of recent passage of the COVID Relief Bill. He says it provided 26 Billion for testing, with Connecticut's share about of 26-million.
Bronin says those wishing to be tested should make an appointment online at ct.gov/prioritytesting.
