CT Triple A: Covid Huge factor in Limiting Thanksgiving Travel

The Public Health Threat Limits Most Travel to Driving.
Triple A Predicts Most Thanksgiving Travel Will Be By Car.

(Hartford, Conn.-WTIC)-It comes as little surprise, but Covid 19 has played a significant factor in limiting travel this Thanksgiving Holiday.
CT Triple Hartford Spokesperson Amy Parmenter says usually their travel surveys are based on economics, like the price of gas and unemployment numbers.
But this year is different. " Usually we predict record travel numbers this time of year. Obviously this year we will see those numbers reversed."
Parmenter says the public health threat of Covid is the reason.
"One thing we have seen regarding travel for the greater part of this year is folks are waiting until the last minute to make go-no-go travel plans. And we expect to see the same as we approach Thanksgiving," she said.
Parmenter says most people plan to travel by car, noting that's why your vehicle should be trip-ready.
The Triple A plans to release a survey regarding travel plans by Connecticut residents next week.
