Home Sales in the greater Hartford area have outpaced the national trend.
A recent study showed that during the month of September, national home sales recorded a 22- percent increase. In the greater Hartford Metro area home sales grew 33-percent.

The CEO of the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors, Holly Callahan says right now it's a hot market. She credits a few factors.

"I think many people are expressing a pent-up desire after months of being inside to go and buy a home," Callahan said.

She also believes Fall is not a deterrent to sell homes. "I never feel that the Winter months are slow. Right now people have to take advantage of the hot market and I don't think the holidays will slow anybody down."

Callahan feels the greater Hartford area homes are more realistically priced.

Further, Callahan believes mortgage rates are helping people to make the decision to buy a home.

"Mortgage rates are low. I know mortgage companies and credit unions are extremely busy," Callahan said.

Finally, Callahan believes that millennials living at home will grow tired of that, creating strong sales in the Spring.
