(HARTFORD, CONN. WTIC)-Two state officials and the co-chairs of the Energy and Technology Committee are calling for an investigation by state utility regulators into the marketing practices of Eversource Energy.
State Representative David Arconti is House Co-Chair of the Energy Committee. He says Eversource used "strong-arm tactics" in trying to get home heating oil customers to convert to natural gas. The mailings were sent to communities in South Windsor.
Eversource has said the mailings were a mistake and they're trying to amend any confusion.
Despite that development, Arconti and Attorney General William Tong and acting consumer counsel Rich Sobolewski want the Public Utilities and Regulatory authority to probe the matter.
