(Farmington, Conn./WTIC) - A man wanted by Farmington police is in the hospital after officers say he stabbed himself in Hartford Tuesday.
The man and another woman were wanted on kidnapping charges in town stemming from a January 29 carjacking incident that left a victim seriously injured.
Police say 30-year-old David O'Brien and 31-year-old Lauren Murphy are charged.
According to police, the two were spotted in Hartford Tuesday afternoon.
Farmington authorities were given the heads up by Hartford police about the pair.
Officers from the two departments swarmed an area of Wetherfield Avenue after their vehicle was seen entering a service station.
O'Brien took off into the store.
That's when police say he pulled a knife and began to stab himself in the neck repeatedly.
He was rushed to an area hospital where he's in critical but stable condition.
Both suspects are facing multiple charges including kidnapping, robbery, evading and unlawful restraint.
O'Brien is being held on a half million dollars bond; Murphy's bond was set at $450,000.
