(West Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Connecticut's COVID-19 positivity rate has nearly doubled since Friday.

At a briefing in West Hartford today, Governor Lamont announced the figure is now at 4.1-percent.

It had been at 2.2-percent as of late Monday afternoon.

While not totally unexpected, Lamont said the increase "wakes you up like a cold shower".

Lamont also noted that hospitalizations had increased by 22.

Additional figures are expected later today.
