The state's 24-hour COVID-19 statistics released Friday are consistent with the downward trend that's leading Gov. Ned Lamont to announce some changes.
The latest 3.6% positive test rate brings the 7-day average down to 4.2%. That's roughly half the national average. The CT 7-day rate maxed out a few weeks ago (for the winter surge) at 7.4%.
Hospitalizations are down to 985 statewide.
The governor's office says that on Monday, he'll provide details on the timing of adjustments he announced this week. The 10 pm restaurant curfew, in effect since November, will be lifted. The capacity limit on houses of worship will also be removed.
Signs of a winter thaw in closures are all around: Rhode Island has ended its restaurant curfew, effective immediately. New York City will allow indoor dining starting on Valentine's Day.
