(Middletown, Copnn./WTIC) - State Police have concluded their annual Thanksgiving holiday enforcement.
Troopers says there were seven fatalities on state roads and highways, including double fatal crashes in Clinton and Waterbury.
Trooper First Class Christine Jeltima says that's an increase over last year's number of two fatalities.
She says 211 speeding tickets were issued and 106 for seatbelt violations.
Troopers also made 29 DUI arrests, down by more than half, while they investigated 376 crashes, 52 with injury.
Jeltima says with the Christmas and New Year's holidays approaching the message is the same: if you're traveling pack your patience, slow down and if you plan to drink alcohol, get someone else to do the driving.
