1 injured, campers damaged in East Hampton fire

East Hampton, Conn./WTIC Radio - One person was treated for smoke inhalation, and two campers were damaged in a Saturday fire in East Hampton.

Firefighters were called to the Markham Meadows campground located on Markham Lane.

When they arrived they found one camper engulfed in flames.

That fire spread to a second camper.

In addition, officials say a propane tank was burning.

They were able to put the fire out.

No firefighters were injured.

A Department of Energy and Environmental Protection hazmat crew and a propane company were called in to assist, as were fire crews from Marlborough and Colchester.

No firefighters were injured.
