WOODSTOCK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Emergency responders in the eastern Connecticut town of Woodstock save 14 puppies involved in a rollover crash that brought down power lines.

The first step in the rescue was to have Eversource CT cut the power to the downed power lines.

Once that happened, numerous emergency responders from the Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association Station 76, along with the Muddy Brook Fire Department in East Woodstock, and other crews, rescued and provided emergency care to 14 puppies who were in the vehicle that rolled over.

Necogg Human Society and Dr. Gwenn from the Peake Brook Veterinary Center responded to the scene to provide veterinary care and shelter to the animals.

Some of the puppies will be taken to Tufts for further care.

None of the people involved in the crash were hurt.
