MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Manchester Road Race Committee makes donations with funds from the Thanksgiving Day run in 2024.
$102,050 worth of charitable donations from the proceeds are being donated to 18 charities and non-profit organizations.
The 18 recipients include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which has been the race's charitable objective since 1951.
Other organizations benefiting from some of the money include: the Community Emergency Response Team; Case Mountain Inc.; Gentle Love Diaper Pantry; Girls on the Run Greater Hartford; the Manchester Sculpture Project; MARC; Manchester High School (for athletic equipment); the Manchester High School Marching Band; Manchester High School (for performing arts technology); Manchester High School Track & Field; the Manchester Running Club; the Manchester Police Activities League; Rebuilding Together Manchester; STEAM Camp; and the TLC Foundation.
A special donation of 12-thousand-dollars was made to the lutz children’s museum from the road race's honors club program.
The 89th Manchester Road Race is scheduled for November 27, 2025 at 10 a.m.
