Three more CT counties reach substantial levels of COVID-19 transmission

COVID Substantial Counties

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Six counties in Connecticut now have substantial levels of COVID-19 transmission, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC).

Fairfield, Tolland and Windham Counties were identified as having substantial levels of COVID-19 spread Friday.

They join New Haven County, which crossed the substantial level threshold Thursday afternoon, and New London and Hartford Counties, which reached the same status on Wednesday.

Per CDC guidance, people in those areas are advised to wear a mask indoors regardless of whether the person is vaccinated or not.

The State Department of Public Health is also strongly recommending residents and visitors of those areas to follow that guidance.

CDC data shows Litchfield and Middlesex Counties have moderate levels of community spread.
