LEDYARD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Ledyard Police say a 3-year-old boy is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the hand Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators call it an accidental shooting at a home on Kerrie Court. It happened just after noon Tuesday.
Ledyard Police say the handgun used in the shooting was registered to and owned by the boy's father.
The child was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to the right hand.
The investigation is active and no additional information is available at this time.
