KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Thursday that UConn men’s basketball redshirt senior Alex Karaban earned a spot on the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court.

The Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Karaban has been a model student-athlete on and off the court in his time at Connecticut, emphasized by the latest academic honor, according to a statement from UConn.

The 6-8 forward graduated in May with a degree in economics and held a 3.39 undergraduate GPA.

He will spend his redshirt senior season in Storrs pursuing a certificate in nonprofit management.

On the court, Karaban has proven to be one of college basketball’s greatest winners. A starter on both the 2023 and 2024 national title teams, he has helped the Huskies to a 92-22 record over the past three seasons and an NCAA-record-tying 13-straight wins in the Big Dance. He was a 2025 Karl Malone Award Top 10 finalist and was named Second Team All-BIG EAST and Third Team All-District during his redshirt junior season.
