Hartland, Conn./WTIC Radio - There's been another moose hit in Connecticut.
This one occurred Wednesday night in the town of Hartland on Route 179.
No injuries were reported.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says the moose was a male and weighed about 550 pounds.
Earlier in the day, a 420-pound moose was struck and killed along the Wilbur Cross Parkway in North Haven.
The Hartland incident is the third moose fatality this year in Connecticut.
DEEP says this is the time of year that moose are active, particularly at dawn and dusk, and they want motorists to use caution especially during those periods of the day as the animals can pose serious safety issues should they wander into the roadway.
