Southington, Conn./WTIC Radio - The funeral for a state police trooper killed in the line of duty last week is Wednesday.
Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier was hit by a pickup truck as he conducted a motor vehicle stop Thursday on Interstate 84 in Southington.
Pelletier died at the scene.
The offending driver sped off and was later apprehended in Farmington.
TFC Pelletier's funeral is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Xfinity Theater in Hartford.
A private wake for family and law enforcement will be held the day before at DellaVecchia funeral home in Southington from noon to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
He will be laid to rest at St. Thomas Cemetery.
Pelletier, a nine-year state police veteran, leaves behind a wife and two young sons.
