Stamford police say 24-year-old Michael Talbot of Greenwich was picked up in Collier County, Florida on January 4.

He was extradited back to Connecticut on Friday.

Police say on December 3, Talbot was behind the wheel of a 2022 Mercedes that struck and killed Giovanni Vega-Benis and Yuliana Arias-Lozano as the two were crossing Washington Boulevard at Main Street.

Talbot attempted to flee but was found hiding behind a shed on Relay Place.

He is charged with two counts each of manslaughter and manslaughter with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility, operating under the influence, and reckless operation.

Talbot is being held on $1 million bond and will be arraigned January 17 in Stamford Superior Court.
