Arrest made in Hartford BLM mural vandalism

Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Hartford police have made an arrest in the vandalism of a Black Lives Matter mural last weekend.

Early Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to Trinity Street on a report of a hate crime.

A swastika along with the numerals 14 and 88 were drawn on the mural.

Detectives working the case were able to develop a suspect, identified as Scott Franklin, 36, of no current address.

He was located Wednesday by members of the police North Street Crimes Unit.

Franklin is facing charges of intimidation based on bigotry or bias, breach of peace and criminal mischief.

Artists spent the last several days repainting the mural, which was unveiled on Tuesday.
