Arrest made in Windsor road rage incident

WINDSOR, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest a New Haven man in connection with a road rage incident Tuesday in Windsor.

Trooper say Amir Wali, 24, was allegedly driving a Honda Pilot while tailgating a vehicle in the HOV lane on I-91 Southbound near Exit 35 in Windsor around 4:41 p.m.


During the incident, Wali allegedly sideswiped the victim's vehicle before shooting at least four shots into the vehicle through the passenger side window.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the left arm and was later transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Reports made to State Police allowed Troopers to track Wali down to Liebert Road, at which time Wali's accused of leading police in a chase before stopping in a commercial lot on Weston Street in Hartford.

Wali is charged with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, reckless endangerment, disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility of a motor vehicle accident, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and throwing object(s) at a motor vehicle.

Bond is $250,000.
