Arrests made in Brookfield shooting

Brookfield, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Brookfield say they've made two arrests in connection with a shooting in town on Wednesday evening.

The call came in after 7:00 p.m. to the parking lot of Happy Landing's Farm on Whisconier Road about a disturbance and subsequent shooting.

While processing that scene, police were notified by staff at Danbury Hospital that two gunshot victims had arrived and were being treated.

Under arrest are Gerald Rutledge, 65, of Southbury and Rithy Kay, 45, of Danbury.

Police say Rutledge is charged with assault and assault with a firearm. His bond was set at $150,000.

Kay faces a 3rd degree assault charge and was released on a written promise to appear.

Both had court appearances scheduled for today.
