Newington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two people are facing charges in Newington in connection with a street takeover in town last weekend.
Just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, officers received complaints about numerous motorcycles, scooters, and ATVs operating recklessly on public roads.
Three riders were observed making unsafe lane changes, police say.
Two were allegedly in possession of illegal 9mm handguns.
The suspects, Jose Velazquez, 35, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts and Alexis Hernandez, 45, of Gardner, Massachusetts, face numerous motor vehicle and weapons charges.
Police say they confiscated 12 illegal vehicles associated with the takeover.
Velazquez and Hernandez were released on $25,000 bond apiece and are due in court next month.
