SOMERS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut state police have labeled as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found inside a car discovered in the woods of Somers.
Police said Jason Comes, 38, was found Thursday morning, just before 10:30 a.m. in the car off Durkee Road. Police did not say where Comes lived.
Police said the death appears to be “an isolated incident” and there is no danger to those in the surrounding community. They said investigators are hoping to look at doorbell camera footage from nearby residents.
“Obviously, this is a rural area,” Sgt. Dawn Pagan, a state police spokeswoman, told the Journal Inquirer of Manchester. “It seems to be a quiet neighborhood, so if there was anything that seemed to be out of the ordinary, certainly the people who reside around here would be aware of that. We urge them to call with anything that they may think may be of assistance. We would greatly appreciate that.”
The car was located about 2 miles from the Massachusetts border.
