Breeze Airways has chosen BDL as its fifth base of operations.

That means an expansion of the number of nonstop flights from four to 12.

Also, Breeze is committing and retaining over 200 jobs in the Greater Hartford area.

“As a long-time Connecticut resident, it’s personally really exciting for me to announce today with Governor Lamont that Hartford’s Bradley International Airport is becoming Breeze’s fifth base of operations,” Neeleman said. “We also can’t wait to share the news of all the eight new destinations coming from BDL in just a matter of weeks.”

The agreement includes a $1.2 million grant from the state Department of Economic and Community Development, contingent on the company producing the jobs.
