Bristol Police say social media posts indicating that missing resident Robert Harper has been found are false.
Investigators say they've been looking for Harper since he left his house voluntarily and without his cell phone around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
There have been several confirmed sightings of him in the area of Lewis and Oakland Streets, as well as in the area of Maltby Street and Stafford Avenue.
Harper is described as a 71-year-old white male, approximately 5'10" tall and weighing 140 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue pants and a brown-and-blue checkered shirt.
The public is being asked to check home security cameras and other available video footage for any possible evidence of Harper's whereabouts.
