Bristol, Conn./WTIC Radio - The Bristol Police Department says it's investigating a pair of hate crimes.

Investigators say a racial slur was written in chalk on the sidewalk at Rockwell Park, according to posts from the social media site Bristol Talks.

On Monday, a swastika was found painted on a "No Smoking" sign near an entrance to Northeast Middle School and on a nearby stop sign.

Police are asking residents who may have cameras to review the footage and report any suspicious activity.

Those who have information are asked to contact Bristol Police Department.
