
BRISTOL, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Bristol police arrested a man with a firearm who, police said, made threats of violence, resulting in schools in the area to be put on lockdown Wednesday.
The Bristol Police Department received a call at around 11:51 a.m. about a man in possession of a firearm in the West Street and Jacobs Street area.

According to police, the man made specific threats of violence.
Schools in the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution while officers investigated the situation, police said.
Bristol officers located the man at about 1:20 p.m. and placed him under arrest.
Robert Larose, 26, was charged with Threatening in the first degree, Breach of Peace in the second degree, Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon, Illegal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine and Interfering with an Officer.
Larose was held on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in New Britain court on Thursday.
