Cemetery repairs continue in Meriden

Meriden, Conn./WTIC Radio - Repairs continue one week after vandals damaged around 100 gravestones at a cemetery in Meriden.

Tuesday, restoration crews from the Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Archdiocese of Hartford were on hand at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Wall Street using heavy equipment to make the repairs.

Meriden police say they believe the vandals struck between the evening of August 11 and the early morning hours of August 12.

Detectives think multiple suspects were involved.

Cemetery desecration in Connecticut is a Class C felony, punishable by up to ten years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
