Granby, Conn./WTIC Radio - The investigation continues into the drowning Wednesday of an eighth grade student from Springfield, MA in a pool at High Meadow Day Camp in Granby.
The child has been identified as Emari Marshall-Woodard, 14, a student in the Springfield school district.
Police received the emergency call around 2:30 p.m.
A Simsbury officer was working a private detail at the camp and began lifesaving procedures.
The boy was rushed to Connecticut Children's in Hartford and pronounced dead.
Police say numerous other juveniles were overcome emotionally after witnessing the incident.
A number of local towns are offering counseling services to those who need them.
