New Britain, Conn./WTIC Radio - An investigation is underway after a child was hit by a school bus Friday in New Britain.
The accident occurred as the CREC Academy of Science and Innovation on Slater Road was dismissing for the day.
School staff tended to the child before they were taken to Connecticut Children's in Hartford for treatment.
The victim was struck by a First Student contracted vehicle.
There's no word on the condition of the child.
The school says trauma counseling services will be available for students or staff impacted by what happened.
