Bears barging into homes in Avon, CT.
Police say it happened on Deepwood Drive, where a bear tried to push in the door of a home, apparently trying to get to some stored birdfeed. Once cops got there, the bear left for the woods.
But News Eight quotes the owner of another Avon home as saying two bears actually got into his kitchen. They tore it apart to get at some cupcakes he says, and screaming did not scare them off.
Screaming also did not faze a bear that recently left an elderly woman with bite wounds -- also in Avon.
