Local races, for mayor, first selectman, city and town council, Board of Education, Finance, and other offices are being decided.
In Bridgeport, the election for mayor features the leading Democrats, incumbent Joe Ganim and his primary challenger running as an independent, John Gomes.
Last week, a judge ruled that the September 12th primary was marred by possible fraud and ordered another primary to be held after Tuesday's election.
In addition, some muncipalities have ballot questions to consider.
In Simsbury, residents are being asked if they favor the sale of recreational marijuana in town.
Polls are open in Connecticut from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
