Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - In Connecticut, the state's official 9/11 memorial ceremony will be held Wednesday.
As in years past, the gathering will take place at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
The burning Twin Towers were visible from the park that day.
In addition, Sherwood Island served as a staging area for supplies and aid in the days and weeks after the attacks.
Wednesday's ceremony gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
