Crews searching for child who went into river in Stratford

Stratford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The search is underway for a child who went into the waters of the Housatonic River in Stratford Wednesday.

Police say the child went into the river near the Birdseye Boat Ramp.

The Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998 on its Facebook says the child is between five-and-six-years of age and was reported in the water around 1:30 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard, dive teams, and drones are taking part in the search.
